Thursday 20.Oktober:

This year's festival program is approaching set, And we have put together a lovely bunch of both long -lived and short -lived musicians ready to please Bergeners with music inspired from around the world! Thursday, 20.10, Will there be the official opening of the festival by Mayor Marte Mjøs Persen. After the opening program we can reveal that the artists who are going to play are Tammie Tambourine, H:e:B and Charlotte dos santos!

Bergen -based Tammie Tambourine consists of the duo Maria Haugerød and Anette Aasgaard. They want to perform energetic pop music with souls taking the audience on mental sky trips and mountain walks in the musical landscape.

We also got the electro-acoustic World-Music band H:e:B, who plays songs written by Hassan El Bouzidi. The music is based on Moroccan tunes with lyrics about the social and political situation in Morocco with some irony and protest. With a mixture of traditional and modern instruments they will create rhythms that we look forward to trampling the beat to. But it should really only be missing when they bring musicians from both Morocco, Norway, Iraq and Serbia.

Friday we can tempt with a wide selection of genres with everything from Persian rap, Reggea in New Norwegian, experimental pop and muslim punk!

Shikoswes bright and comfortable voice has a berries element over a single repetitive riff. Her experimental pop- Sound has sources of inspiration such as Sufjan Stevens and Kate Bush.

In addition to Shikoswe we have brought the bergen band with us Sherpa that is fronted by the Persian rapper Babak Ziai. They supply a superfunky experimental mix of roots and hip hop with a touch of indie and jazz!

Friday will also receive elements of Reggea in Nynorsk from Førdefjorden; Blasphemous explosion will enjoy us with lovely tunes, catchy chorus and uplifting texts before the evening ends with a bang from the taqwacore band The Kominas (US).

The Kominas comes all the way from Boston to settle with Islamophobia, racism and American paranoia. The genre taqwacore is perhaps more closely known as Muslim punk, and The Kominas is a nice mix of static guitars, intricate bass lines and bombardic drums. To say wrong things at the wrong time, Such punk band Sex Pistols in its time did, Will The Kominas introduce us to songs like "Sharia Law in the USA" and "No One's Gonna Honor Kill My Baby But.
