WANT TO BE VOLUNTEER AT Bergen International Music Festival 2018?

We are now approaching October, and Bergen International Music Festival 2018, and without volunteers there will be no festival! If you want to make an invaluable effort, there are still some volunteers needed for this to be a fantastic event!

As a volunteer, you get a festival pass, T shirt, something to eat when on duty, nice prices when you are not on guard – and hopefully an awesome experience!

Conditions: Each volunteer works two shifts of approx. 6 hours with one or more work areas, and I distribute work tasks as far as possible according to desire. The festival takes place October 24-27 at Bergen International Cultural Center. We will have a volunteer meeting ahead of the festival, where we go through practical information regarding work tasks, fire safety and distribution of t-shirts.

We have the following tasks:

Poster hangers

The person receives a given number of posters to be hung up around the city in the lead up to the festival. We agree on routes in advance, so that we are highly visible in our city. This is a very good task because you get a lot in return for your efforts, and at the same time some exercise.

Bartenders

The person serves at the bar, and distributes food to the volunteers. No experience required, but assumes that the person is over 18 year with regard to allowances.

Drivers

The person drives the artists around town, as well as to and from the airport. We cover petrol expenses and tolls in return for a receipt.

Guards

The person is responsible for safety, and is clearly visible in the venue during the events. The guards have rolling records, so that you can catch concerts and get your feet moving.

Stagehands

People who help with rigging and incidental tasks such as sound in particular- and the lighting technician needs along the way. Might be a bit of lifting and running, but mostly you are available when needed, and you therefore get time for concerts.

Artist hosts

This is an extra important task, and it is an advantage if you have been an artist host before, but it is not a requirement. The person is responsible for the artist/band having what they both need

practical information and raids in connection with the stay when they arrive, while they are backstage, on sound check in addition to before and after the concert.

People in the ticket booth and in the kitchen

As you know, we get food as volunteers, and then we need someone who can help in the kitchen with cooking and cleaning. We also need a team in the ticket booth for ticket control- and sales.

Get in touch by email or phone as soon as possible, so that you secure the job you want most.
