What's your story??

Are you in between 16 and 20 year? Do you want to tell your story, or learn more about how to express yourself in different ways?

We invite you to a storytelling workshop where we work with storytelling through words, music, dance and video. The storytelling workshops are arranged once a week and are held by professional instructors on the premises of the Bergen International Cultural Center.

Startup is 17. March and we end with screenings on the National Stage in June.

We want to put together a group of young people with different backgrounds and experiences. You need absolutely no theater background to participate!

Here is the plan for spring:

24. mars: What is a storytelling workshop? - Introduction of the instructors and the way we work
Wondering what a storytelling workshop is, and if it's something for you? We invite you to an open storytelling workshop
where you can get a taste of what it is we do, and what we will work on in the future.

7. april: The new normal - Writing course with Stina Ihle Amankwah
What is normal today? What should be normal? Can we make a new normal? Are you normal?
Together with author Stina Ihle Amankwah, we try to arrive at a new normal:-)

14. april: The new story - Writing course with Stina Ihle Amankwah
We need to create a new narrative about the future. We must create new dreams, new sets of values, new standards and
new ways of thinking. Stina Ihle Amankwah helps us stake out a new direction:-)

21. april: The physical narrative - Physical workshop with Shelmit Øseth
Everyone has their own way of moving, and their own physical expression. The way you go, standing and sitting on is unique
for you. Shelmith will help us develop our own language of movement in a fun and different way.

28: april: Slam Poetry – Workshop med Doriansgrave
Many know Michael W Opara alias Doriansgrave from Slam Poetry Bergen. This Wednesday he is going
teach us to put into words what we mean in a clear way!

5. May: M.O.T. – My Own Truth – Gatekunst med Nimi
This Wednesday, street artist Naeem Searle alias Nimi will visit. He has long experience with
to hold courses for young people, and sees this as an important part of his work as an artist. We work
with making visual expressions of what we mean, and put our mark on the world.

12. May: M.O.T. – My Own Truth – Gatekunst med Nimi
We continue to work with different forms of visual expression together with Naeem Searle alias Nimi.
He inspires us to find out who we are, and express what we mean in a creative way.

19. May: My story - Podcast with Sheila F. Kassim
Sheila has a background in film and creative writing. She will teach us how to make podcasts, and maybe we work a little
with film and picture as well. We are based on what we have produced at the previous workshops and
continues the work of creating a new story about who we are and the city we live in.

26. May: Summary with Vibeke Flesland Havre
This Wednesday we share thoughts and experiences based on the storytelling workshops we have been to
on.
